Default somewhat of a ricer question

i haven't had much experience with boosted vehicles i know turbo cars with a bov make a sucking sound when shifting gears but i had a few questions.

1. which distinct sounds does a supercharged car make?

2. an (auto transmission) turbocharged car with a bov will still make the sucking noise when it shifts gears right?

3.how much horsepower generally does a sc/tc add minimum am talking about?

thx for all input

1. A S/c car makes a high pitched wine like a BELT drivin pulley maxed out.
2. Thats BOV stands for Blow off valve no sucking noise its compressed air venting. you will hear this with both manual and auto its easier to "show off" the BOV with a manual.
3. depends about the amount of Boost you are making the displacement of the motor turbo size/trim lots of shit.

why? what AT car are you planning on turboing? If your doing it for the sound, just get a stock GST and throw a TYPE SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS on it...You will be blowing off till no tomorrow.......And yes, its called a "BLOW" off valve....not a "suck" off valve

Your right it is a "wee-bit" of a ricer question but hey...everone ask one sometimes.3

Anywho like everyone else has stated turbo no matter the setup. As long as there is a BOV mounted there will be sound. Remember BOV keeps excess pressure from building up between throttle plates and turbine. Therefore no matter the drive type. When you get off the throttle...there will be a sound. S/C can make the same sound along with the "nifty" little whine as long as there is a BOV on the car. People have a hard time concieving this because well.....they think there is no way a S/C car can have a BOV. Becuase they forget it's operation for some reason.

theres lots of auto turbos- saabs, volvos, even porsches. and their 'suck-off' valves still work the same way.

I honestly don't understand the question. But I think you are asking if with an auto car is it better to go S/C or turbo ? The thing is I think you need a better understading of engines or performance. That way you can better understand how all this stuff works. Hope this helps you out bro...we all been newbs before.
