Default Is it safe to use tubes on slicks?

I just had a slick given to me that has a hole in it.(Psycho ex gf)I was wondering if a tube will hold up.Can they even be patched like regular tires? Its a MT 26X10.5X15.

If you read the sidewall, you'll see that you are actually supposed to run tubes. Few people actually do though.

how big's the hole? and where is it? if it's in the sidewall, i'd just toss it.. you don't want that thing coming apart under hard acceleration..

Its not on the sidewall(i'll double check) and i read the tire said to run a tube. The slick might have 6 passes on it and it was free so i wasnt about to turn it down.
