ford 500
There is nothing wrong with the 500. It could use a bit more "substance" for my taste. But it's appealing to a different demographic. It certainly is a solid car. The fit & finish is equal to many luxury cars. Its also available with all wheel drive.
It shares the underpinning with the freestyle (psuedo-ute). Both vehicles were developed in part with Volvo (owned by ford.)
While you and I aren't crazy about the 500, there is a good chance our parents would dig it.

Hmmm looks pretty good to me, yes it is a little bland on the outside but they are changing that. As Mars said every car can not be some supercar. And thankfully the Taurus is going away, right now it is going to be a fleet car for businesses.
Don't forget they also have a AWD model and the option for a transmission that shifts based upoin torque load.
