Autometer water temp install question...
Hello Gents.
The wife........Oops, I mean Santa brought some autometer gauges. All look simple enough to install, air/fuel, boost, oil pres, volt, but I need a little help with one of the them. The water temp. Is there something I can buy that you cut the upper rad. hose in half and install a adapter that the temp sensor screws in? If not. how does one go about installing the water temp gauge? I guess I could weld one up, but thought I would check with you guys first.
Thanks,

I'm guessing based on your vehicle list that its going on something without US standard threads on it
In that case, you can either drill and tap a location on the manifold (if you have coolant going through there), or like you said, get something that splits into the radiator hose. I don't know if something like that is made, but I could fab one up for you pretty cheap.

I Know they make those adapters for the upper radiator hose in metric threaded gauge senders ..
HKS , Juran alot of companies do , Usually run 10-30 bucks

If I were to get a piece of steel EMT, lets say 3-4" long, then weld a nut (Have to use my new welder for something..*LOL*) that the sensor would thread in, then cut the upper rad. hose then install the pipe... would this work? Would I have to coat the inside of the pipe with anything to prevent rust?
Thanks
Thanks

It would eventually rust if it were bare pipe. You can spray paint the inside of it which should get most of the bare metal covered.
I'm not sure if a nut would work for that fitting. I think its pipe thread, so you'd have to go to Home Depot and get a pipe fitting that the sender can thread into, then weld that to your pipe. Make sure to get something long enough that the sender won't hit the other side of the pipe, its kinda long.
