Default Quiet Air Compressors...

ok, so i'm looking to buy some air tools. (the valet business has been excellent lately) the only issue is with my neighborhood...and that i live in a garage apartment where my roommate's bedroom is directly above the garage space i use to work on cars.

to keep everyone happy i'm looking to go with a reasonably priced air compressor that isn't too loud.

does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks in advance.

Good luck. You'll probably have to build a sound absorbing enclosure for it. I don't know how much benefit your roomate will get though unless you find quiet air tools.

I was told the belt driven compressors are quieter than the other type...but they are still really f-ing loud.

The "oilless" ones are the loudest. You want to get one that uses oil. other then that they are all loud. How good has the Valet business been? I'm missing a few quarters.
