Glimpse of the Sky

Automotive News / November 29, 2004

Saturn's first roadster finally has a name: Sky. Saturn revealed the name Monday, Nov. 29, when it released the first sketches of the rear-wheel-drive vehicle. Saturn says the Sky shows the new design cues that will appear across Saturn's product lineup. The Sky will debut at the Detroit auto show in January. The car will be built at GM's Wilmington, Del., assembly plant. It will arrive at Saturn retailers in early 2006.

I guess the date says that it was 'posed to be released teh 29th cuz they got the info early, i dunno. I sorta like it, but its still a saturn.

Just hold on everyone! The product that we are comin out w/ in the next couple of years is nothin like what you're used to. Welcome to the new Saturn!

SKY? That's not what I heard it was gonna be called? The SKY was a concept vehicle just like the CURVE. I heard the new roadster was gonna be called the EVOKE.

Two engines, 2.4L Ecotec VVT N/A 170hp or 2.0L Supercharged. $25k to $35k. Will be built along side the Pontiac Soltice in Wilmington, DA. Erase everything from your head about Saturn, we're goin after the big bouys!

I'd pimp it. At least from the sketchy sketch that is shown. Besides, saturns have a good base to build a rock solid 2.0 race motor from. And most of the parts or availible through GM performance off the shelf gimmicks if i'm not mistaken. Sucks to have to wait till 2006 though.

Yes, that is the Saturn Sky Concept vehicle. The picture that nismo posted is the real deal! Not sure they will call it the Sky though. I'll call my connections tomorrow.

Uhmmm, far from it! Wanna stop by my work so I can show you my 100,000 mile club book. The Honda sales person doesn't have that sittin at his desk. Not sayin Honda's don't go over 100k cause they sure do! So do Saturns! Mine has 169k and still still has the original engine (no swap or rebuild). I have many many many customers w/ over 200/300k on their Saturns. We took one in on trade w/ 500k (no rebuild).

:EDIT:
Do you have your original engine in your car? No? That's what I thought. What was wrong w/ the engine that came in it from the factory?
