500 hp is going to be silly for a daily driven SR. scott managed to squeeze 539 out of a stock block SR but that was by no means his daily driver. personally i'm shooting for about 350 at the wheels. anything above 400 will mean god awful lag as far as i'm concerned. if you're just looking for a dyno number, i'd say go with the sc300
lemme refraise wat i ment , i want a low 12 high 11 sec car that i can drive to work n around town , i'd lik to do the 240 cuz it would be cheaper , 500 was a number i juss through out there
well both cars can be purposely built. you would want to reinforce the SR for 500HP daily driver. thats going to be pretty high maintenance also. any 500hp car is going to be unless its factory.
either car is capable of meeting your needs. Personally I'd do a 240 no if's and's or but's.

Daily driver(reliability, good gas mileage, no problems)and 11 second car do not mix. Pick up a dependable, cheap no frills good gas mileage car and then start a project car. When you have to go to work on Monday morning, you don't have to worry about the rod that's poking out of your oil pan on Sunday night.
And if you're genuinely interested in making a fast car on a tight budget stick with domestics, trust me I own both.
