Default Post your car alarm/install prices and quality

Getting a car alarm shortly, I know MANY places install them. Its hard to find a place that does everything perfect w/o frying something or alarm not working right at times. I need a basic alarm that goes off when car is touched/hit I dont need any accesseries that aren't nessasery. Just something that makes me feel like my cars always safe. The catch is I have shaved handles. The door lock do not work as there arent any handles. I use a push button thats in my side skirt where no one can see. So i need to turn this push button entry into a remote popper entry to suit the alarm. Bottom line is Post your prices and quality shops that you stand behind around the Tampa bay area. Also if any of you have shops that are BAD NEWS. Thanks

Jeremy

Seeing as you are in Largo...I would go to AVE Audio on US19 just north of Countryside Mall. Theyre awesome.

I have recently heard bad things about Buzz Off and Brandon City Stereo, no personal experience there though, I just always use AVE. They have both Code Alarm and Viper so theres a lot to choose from also, and theyll stand behind their work. They are a small 4-man shop, so you will see the same faces when you walk in which is always good.

Go there during the week and talk to JJ, he is the owner and most knowledgeable in that he will spend a half hour explaining things to you if you need him to. Vaughn is an awesome installer, went to Metra installer school in daytona and knows his shit also.

Good luck and let me know how it goes
Kevin

Stereorama on Gulf to Bay....Bill or Terry will take care of you. Great people, excellent service, quality installs on everything they do....

Well sounds like everyone has their preference. Heard good things about Sensous Sounds also. Stereorama has good stuff, just too overpriced for me, especially since i know the guys at AVE and they hook me up.

buzz off is horrible, easy to break...

divine often makes copies of actuators, if you have equipment they might want...

mine was done at sound advise, awesome install and great prices.

You'd probably have a lot easier time if you put handles back on your doors.

+1 for Sound Advice (granted, they got glue all over my paint from builiding a speaker box near my car when they were doing the install, but they took the car and got it detailed for me, so it was all good).

and definitely +1000000000 on getting some door handles. I'm not sure why people do that to their cars, then complain because the door poppers NEVER work right, or don't work right for long.

My doors work and pop out perfect, never had a problem, I have door handles on the inside that work fine. (maybe you guys thought i didn't have them on the inside?)I just have them shaved on the outside, I love the look, very clean. The door locks on the inside don't work (for obvious reasons). I will call AVE today and see what they have to offer. thanks for these helpful replies.
