Question open diff on slicks

OK iv only ran slicks once, I was thinken with an open diff out of the hole it would help me save axles and or trannys, I know my times wouldn't be as good as a locked diff but I don't think I would break as much, and it would help me from doing 1/8th mile burn outs. Any body know any thing about this, and what do you guys think?

naturaly slicks will get you out of the whole better than street tires with or with out a diff.

yet 1.7s on a FWD car is a big accomplishment for a street car, if you can do that your car can damn well get out of the hole.

Street cars don't use slicks. "race cars" do.
