Default Think sand fucked my shit up?

Was out driving on a sandy road tonight and fucking around but after I left i heard a nasty hallow grinding sound as the rpms fell between shifting. I hope its not sand in the intake but i have no clue. Any suggestions?

Well i think i narrowed it down... not the sand thats making the noise. Its the cat eating itself. Must have rattled something loose but this wasnt the first sign of trouble. Been getting a code on the obdII saying cat out of eff. Looks like i may be getting a shiney new exhaust soon.
