ahh i dont know what to do!!
Lets just say this.
12.05 at 118 last night on slicks.
this is with a $1700 turbo kit, fuel pump, injectors, a standalone, fuel return lines, and some tuning. Only suspension mods are some $80 motor mounts and some IPP Coilovers. Last nights weather sucked. This is on an 03 with weaker axles and no LSD.

if you want something that has little risk of breaking, low buy-in price, low maintenance costs and doesnt have 4 doors, buy an Accord V6 coupe. save up for a Real car that has real potential. maybe an AWD DSM... something look at Eric's car. that thing is sick nasty and its only FWD. Shit, ive got a VIRGIN 92 GST ill sell you for 3000, i just did a T-belt on it and the motor has like 60k miles on it... itll last you for another 50k miles before you need to open the engine. just change the oil on time. and its a turbo, its not a bitch to work on and possibly one of the finest 4 cylinders of time and can put many 6-cylinders to shame... especially VG30's. like the baddest ass Z's out there are making HP thats still in the 4-cylinder range. i dont know what the problem is, but there are Several guys making over 700HP on a 4G63... how many people are making over 700HP on a VG30? not trying to say you need 700HP, im just making a point of how strong and reliable the engine is. the Z32 should have had the hood welded shut at the factory to deter any boneheads from trying to work on it.

Since when did Real cars have to worry about crank walk?
Edit - Also all of those 700whp people, what times do they run? that much power is useless unless you can hook man.

Ever hear that "joke" about 600whp 700whp and 1000whp supras all running the same time? Its true, there is a limit to where more power is useless. I know DSMs can get quick for cheap, but dont bring up the issue of horsepower =P
Hell I was a pittle fart away from a AWD DSM but rents didnt like the whole used car deal.

For the price you'll pay for the 04 skittle you can get an 02 f-body thats still under the factory warrenty, has 2 doors, and is a hell of a lot faster
PS if you are absolutely dead set on one of the two I'd go with the srt-4....just look at the pro's & con's on the two and you should be pretty well decided. I love the Z's, but it seems to me that they are nothing but a hassle

john shepherd was making around 700'ish horsepower and running deep in the 9's in a street car, all things aside, i respect the SRT, and congratulations on the 12.0, but you bring up a point, when you get a certain horsepower, theres not much you can really do...the srt being no exception...the supra guys, being RWD, figured out if you slap an old school automatic back there, with some supersoft rear suspension, and some big fat drag radials, your 12 second 6 speed, is a 9 second automatic, its a matter of not wanting to set the car up to run at the track, most supra guys like the top end power their cars own and have no desire to run fast 1/4 miles, but go just to see what the car does, mostly in the department of trap speed, same goes for FWD cars, and FWD will always be faster from a roll, personally, i kinda like the AWD thing and the 1.7-1.8 60' on all weathers

Why is it all skittle owners are hardass negative individuals that think their car is the next MKIVtt?
It just seems to me that once someone buys a Skittle, their head swells up to the size of a beach ball and think they will own everyone. i can give credit where credit is due; they are a respectable car and have potential... but its STILL FWD and its STILL a Neon. two strikes right there.

John Shepherd is in the EIGHTs! all wheel drive, STOCK drive line WITH an interior and factory sheet metal, aside from the hood. it is a STREET CAR. he drives it like once a week to work. he works at a Dodge dealer last i talked to him. Put that in your Skittle and smoke it. dont get me started on the Longituinal mount 4G63's that run 7's.
and why is it that EVERY ill-informed person that has to say something about a DSM ALWAYS goes the Crankwalk-issue... without fail? The Crankwalk issue was limited to the 2nd Gen DSM's and 7-bolt motors. the 1G 6-bolt motors are where its at. quite bullet-resistant for any box-stock motor. alot better than a 300Z where you have to tear the block down and grind the casting flash out of the coolant jackets if you ever want serious HP.

Yeah I know there is a limitation, a large one, when it comes to FWD.
If you dont mind a used car, there are alot of nice used cars out there that I would have rather went with. But I couldnt get a used car. For a new car, the SRT-4 is hard to beat.
