Very true and I didn't think of that. It's not really that hard but it would require more then just getting momy and daddy buying you a kit and paying a shop to put it on.

No, you are just too stupid to figure it out. leave the a/c system stock. Build a tank around the evaporator under the dash. store your water in that tank and circulate it. Just because you drive a volvo doesnt mean noone on this site can fab stuff up themselves w/out having mommy and daddy pay for it

Why build a tank and an evaporator and go through all that when you could just use the a/c system to your advantage, use less parts, cost less money and have colder air intake temps when in the street car format. Gee why would you want to do something like that? I own more then just a volvo, and I wasn't stating everyone on TR is that way. Last time I checked what I have to drive has nothing to do with it. Maybe your just mad cause my volvo gets more traction then your teg.

Your car already has an evaporator. YOur blower blows air thru it which gets cold. Just build a tank around it and fill it with water.

I know this and understand this concept. But what I'm saying is all you have to do with my Idea is get a liquid to air IC and cut into the "charged(cold)" line of the system, have that go into the intercooler then out of the intercooler back into the system before it even enters teh evaporator. This way you are getting the coldest part of the system? See what I'm trying to say? I'll try to find more info and pics of this type of setup.

I like this idea cause that way you don't have to build any tanks, use water and you get a colder affect then if you went the tank route. This way it pretty much uses everything from your a/c system and you just plug it in and turn on your a/c.

Do you have any idea how a/c works?

edit: the a/c has to evaporate for it to cool, when its ocmrpessed liek it is in that line, its not cold.

I have the general idea of how it works. I usually never really cared about it cause my galant didn't have it and my dads ls1 had it and you just turned it on. a/c is something i was never really worried about or felt the need to have, im more of a windows down type of person. The main idea I was talking about is that it uses the "charged" frion from the system when its at it's coldest point and runs it through the intercooler. Unless I'm missing something or over looked something.

Gotcha. So would the actual air going out of the evaporator be the coldest part? If so could you just use that line for the purpose?
