Default better fuel economy

when august is over gas will be way more expensive then 1.69 so what are some things you can think of to improve fuel economy?

I am thinking just the basics maintence ; oil change, good spark plugs and wires, new o2 sensor, new tranny oil,

then upgrades is free flowing exhaust, cold air induction,

if you wnat to get into it lighter wheels, lowered vehicle (less wind resistance)

mmm nothing else I can think of

anybody have any more ideas

Lowered vehicle...uhhhh..maybe in Nascar? Pretty much what you listed are good points to address. Change out the fuel filter if it hasnt been done in a while AND one of the more neglected points is proper tire inflation. Tire inflation is key in getting good gas mileage.

tire inflation I forgot that why. and why you think lowered vehicle only in nascar? maybe some people drive like a jeep or a truck or something. then it being lowered would be less resistance but I doubt it will do anything in a honda or something of that sort

how about NO. For your vehicle to move forward, it must displace the air around it. The top and sides are unobstructed and provide a relatively free path. If your vehicle is reasonably high off the ground, the underside provides an air path as well. If you lower it, I think you'll make your mileage worse.

how about NO... the lower your vehcile the less vehicle it has exposed to the air and the less goes under your vehicle..

Lowering your vehicle will help wind go across the smooth topside of your car and keep it from going under the mess underneathe. It will help wind resistance, but not worth doing unless you drive at 130mph constantly.
