no title?
they have to go to the dmv and say that they need a new title and then the dmv will contact tallhassee and send a new title to them. DO NOT BUY THE CAR WITHOUT THE TITLE. the reason i say that is b/c if the car were stolen or has a lein on the title then you would be screwed paying the lein and if it were stolen then well you can figure that one out. i would wait till the title is cleared and in they're hands. just my .2

In fact, at most title offices the owner can go in and get a title printed right then and there, I believe there is an extra charge of like $7, but if he wants to sell the car, that's not much. If they refuse to go get a duplicate title, don't buy the car.

I waited a couple weeks for the title to the Buick, and about a week for the title for the Datsun. I turned down a car I wanted to buy because of title issues. Had he had the title in his name, ready to go, I would probably have bought it.
Not sure why people don't think the title is an important part of the car. It's the only thing really saying you own it. What's more important than that?
