ok I'll give you that one. i was thinking of you racing Danny.(01 bird of pray) for free from a roll and not telling him about the spray. or at least that's what i hear. i still haven't seen you say you did or didn't. so yeah i was giving you shit and wasn't even out there that night....lol my bad. but i do still enjoy talking shit. just doesn't come out the same on the net. would have been better if we were both standing by our cars and it led to a race.


and it seem like you will never get what street racing was and should be about. there is no shame in asking for something when asked to race by a faster car. its expected if not then the guy is just picking on slower cars to be a dick. i know in my case it wasn't but that was just cause none of this is done face to face anymore.

it went kinda like this...

back in the day before the net racing. we all met in parking lots every week. once you were there a while you had an idea how fast everyone was. or at least thought you did..lol sleepers were the rule. so, if someone was looking for a race they started asking the faster cars first. if none of them were up for it, then he started asking slower cars. if asked you and it wouldn't have even been a race then you'd say no its not worth it. why would you want to lose you money. but if the guy with the faster car went thru the trouble of loading up the car and staying out all night. really wanted to race he would start giving up stuff. at some point the slower car thinks his chances were good and he could win and he would take the bet.

i have seen many many races where the slower car got 10 and the hit. spray for spray. there's no disgrace in it at all. or the slower car would say, lets do it motor for motor. i've only got a small kit and your spraying a big kit. its the way it was done. because people put a lot of effort into trying to make money.

now the part you seem to missing the most... was that a slower car didn't ask for the race in the first place. unless there was history between them and they were friends talking shit. there was a order to things. everyone knew there place. for the most part.

and there is a whole list of rules about when a race was a race and the winner took the cash. it would take way to long to type them all. and I'm sure i'd miss a few.


now with all that said my race with Jake wasn't about me trying to win or even me thinking i would. was i hoping he would spin and miss 2 gears and i made a little money? yes of course. but he didn't want to do it for money cause some how that's like kicking someone when there down, these days. when it really just add to the fun.

Who are James and Al? What do they got and what do they run? Are they currently running?

 

James is the Z06 above, he has run in the tens, I'll leave it at that. Al is Hybrid SS, he has a '99 SS that has run in the 9's.

 

Actually I have never run in the 9s. My best was a 10.0 at 138 on roughly 600-610 rwhp..the car had dynoed over 700 rwhp though. But as they say...its not a 9 second car until youve run the #.

It is currently under the knife and awaiting a few parts from vendors.

Tony....all the machine work you guys did was fantastic. Thanks a bunch. The shortblock/cam/etc is ready, just waiting on a vendor that has a new part out I will be using. Its a new product so there is some backorder issues. However its what I need so I will wait it out.
The other thing was my custom cometic headgaskets....I did get those last week...yay!
