mustang dyno i believe puts the full load of your vehicle weight on the dyno and hence you will get a lower hp reading than on a dyno jet which only puts a certain load on the car ( i think its like 500lbs)

so dynojets usually read higher than mustang dyno depending on application.

for example an rsx that puts out 300 on a dynojet may put down 260-270 on a mustang dyno

i was personally told from the xat people themselves that a mustang dyno reads alot higher than a dynojet

i have never seen that happen

call coastal and they will back up what i said and they have a mustang dyno

but the only way to be sure is to get your car dynoed at a dynojet then immediately on a mustang dyno

i normally see lot lower numbers with a mustang dyno which would make sense if they are preloading the whole weight of the car rather than a set amount

I was on sams mustang dyno on saturday of one week and on xats dyno on the following saturday with no changes on the car within the 7day period. I lost 40whp on the dyno jet as did my friend and his srt-4 who had dynoed at coastal at the same time. weather was similar.. hot and humid.

well cant tell ya! usually the mustang dyno SHOULD read lower cause of the above mentioned physics reasons

but of course a lot of things could of varied such as ambient temperature in the room and car condition so dunno.

that link to that article is usually the technical explanation why it reads lower than a dyno jet but not like i own both of them and know for sure.

if anyone dynoed last saturday at xat, maybe something was wrong with their machine? i dynoed at 150whp

stock type s is 165-170whp

i dynoed 239whp n xats and 273whp on Sam's. I was supposed to go to rev extreme and dyno there to compare but I no longer own the car. I sold it and it is now in Ohio.
