"just drop in?"

since you don't sound like you know how to do an oil change, i'd suggest taking it to an oil & lube place. no oil filter just "drops in".

Just pop the hood and throw the thing in there. It'll figure itself out.

It is a canister filter, like a bwm. Pop the hood and if you are standing in front of the car, on you right handside there is a plastic cap with a big nut on top. Take the cap off and take out the old filter and place new one in and all set.

im used to my honda motor... filter is a cylinder on the back of the motor.... this thing was almost underneath the intake manifold and had a big ass plastic plug, i have never done anything on the ecotec motor, so pardon me for my lack of intellegence towards them
