what to do if oil pan nut striped

Default what to do if oil pan nut striped

i couldn't change my oil cause the nut is striped. is there a way to get it off so i can drain the oil. i don't have an impact wrench so

take a phillips head screw driver. put the point against the bottom of the drain pan, and hit the end with a mallet. that should allow you to drain the oil.

you're on your own for plugging the hole again.

seriously, try vice grips. someone else can chime in, would an easy-out work in this situation?

If it is the head, use a gator grip. It has gotten me out of a lot of situations. If it is the threads, work it out, then go to the auto parts store and pick up an oversized oil plug. They sell them all the time.

Too many Tire Kingdoms and Pep Boys putting the shit on with impacts.
