Type-S is a good blowoff valve. Full Race use to use it with all their kits and shop cars (at least the Honda's). Now they use the TiAL.

I had an HKS ssqv before the type s, and it was a LOT louder and had a much more pussified parakeet sound to it....

Obviously not a DSM or anything...Anyways if I can get a good deal on HKS and do it right, it sounds cool to me. Its just weird that everyone says TiAL and I've never heard of it.

it is a dsm. dont know numbers, never been to dyno. Car is strictly for street racing. I am running stock motor right now. Well stock block/stock internals/stock head/stock intake manifold. This weekend I will be picking up my built motor.

There is no compressor surge with the HKS SSQ. And as far as I know HKS quotes it being able to release 35+lbs(dont quote me on that though). I will be switching to tial though, I had a talk with my buddy who owns titan about the hks ssq vs tial and I'll be switching once my new motor is in.

The sound is rather unique. It is just a massive rush of air. I can make it sound like it is sneezing. No weird squeaks or whistles. I'll probably be out @ Bennigans on Sunday with it if any one of you are curious as to what it sounds like.
