Default Need some ideas for car purchase

Here is the deal. I will be selling my Civic Si in a month or so, and am looking for something else. The Si is done; interior, motor swap, suspension, etc. It took 4 years and now I am finished with it.

I need help deciding on a new or used car model. Right now I am leaning towards either a Saab 9-2x, WRX wagon, Matrix XRS or a Lexus IS300 manual tranny. Yes, I know that the 9-2x is basically a re-skinned WRX, but it has a look to it that I like.

If you guys had $25-30K to spend, what would you get?? It has to have a manual transmission, be reliable, and have A/C. These are definites. No modifications will be done until any existing warranty has expired; after that all bets are off Oh yeah, it has to be practical to a degree. One car for everything; speed, looks, some luggage space, etc.

Old, new, classic ??? Please give me some choices.

Thanks,
Ken

Or you could buy a Corvette That would be my choice. It was my Dad's choice, just a little bit more than 30k though. But I am sure you can find a 2000+ Corvette for under 30k. I'm sure you could pull up a Z06 for around 35k. They only made 6speed Z06's. They have a good amount of luggage space. I fit a few fishing poles in the back of my Dad's Vette hard top. We have fit coolers, suitcase's, hell we have even put my brother back there So it falls in your catagory. Luggage space, around 30k, speed...well it has 405 horse's run's mid 12's (but there has been reports of a Z06 running high 11's) manual transmission, it has a/c and it is reliable! Just the only thing...it's a two seater as you probably know... Well let us know what you purchase in a few month's. Good luck hunting.

P.S. Pics in gallery of Vette (Pewter)

Thanks, those are both very nice choices, but the insurance would kill me on the Corvette, and you probably won't have your Mach 1 when I am ready to buy. I did own a Ford, it was a 93 Probe GT. And while it was still a Mazda drivetrain, it was near impossible to work on.

I am trying to get one car for everything; think sedans, sport wagons, etc. Something that isn't obviously fast, that you wouldn't give a second glance to.

Ummm you can buy like a 1999-2000 H1

But I would go for a STI. I don't know how much insurance is on a STI though...

On the WRX, insurance would be around $680 for 6 months.
STi would probably be a little higher.
And sorry, but I can't stand big SUV's.:o

Have I got the car for you See sig, $7000, PLENTY of room, 4 doors, great ride, actually handles well, nobody would ever give a second glance, you could put a 6 speed in it if you must (been done many times to Impala SS's), and have LOTS of money left to put in the bank or make it faster

I say Infiniti G35 for that price range if you need 4 seats.
