So you want a design idea for a muffler. I think its a good idea. the only good sounding muffler on a V8 are flowmasters. Any straight through design sound to poppy and raspy. Everyone are going crazy over those "Spin tech" mufflers. i think they suck and sound like shit. you can't even see light when you look through them. Flowmaster's really don't flow that well, but for the sound I would sacrafice. Turbo cars can get away w/ straight through or no mufflers as you all know. Chambered mufflers on turbo vehicles sound like a whistle. I'am interested in your idea.

P.S. you have a flow bench? can you test cylinder heads?

im just going to do it to play around. I wonder if the flow bench will simulate the sound. It probably isn't enough air anyway.

and LEKO, yes I have a flow bench but it depends on the amount of air you want to flow through your heads. I can't handle highly tuned v8 heads but stock to just a port job yes ( but I never tried it)

Find a used muffler you like, and cut it open to study its build.
