Default What is Handling?

This term is really, really vague to me, and I'd like to hear from a few people what they know about it. I don't want theories, and from any drifters, try not to be too biased, I.E., saying handling is how easy a car can be controlled in a drift or whatever. I'd like to know exactly what skidpad ratings are and slalom speeds and such. What makes a car have good handling? Educate me!

It's relative to what you're goals are. There is no SET "good handling".

When i talk about handeling.
it's relative to understeer, oversteer, body roll, responsiveness, and traction

ii think when u read a mag or somthing and they say a car has good handling means nice responce, not much body roll, sticks to the ground and doesnt get squirly on you... but i guess its a personal preff. depending on what u want the car to do

I feel handling is finding a balance between responsivness and traction.

Of course, it all depends on what the application is. Wanna find out how your car "handles"? take it to an Auto-X.....there you shall find the answer you seek, grasshopper.
