there are still federal emissions laws, just no inspections in this state
but the law states any modification to your exhaust system is illegal...and if you have no cats, its a federal offense punishable by 5 years in jail and/or a $250K fine

don't get "emmisions" confused with exhaust modifications(as in loud fart pipes)

nope...its if your CAR...not engine...if the vehicle was designed at a time when catalytic converters were required, they are still required, no matter what year the engine under the hood is

the actual broken law is if you remove a cat and dont put one back on...but its the same as having no cats on a car designed for them...but im not sure...there is probably a loophole somewhere like there is for insurance

The fine is hefty, but I still plan on running catless d/p.

I got a $75 ticket in Georgia for loud exhaust. I didn't have cats, just dynomax bullet mufflers (not the Lightning). I guess that's different than the Florida laaw?
