I would buy the 240 and spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours in labor on a SR swap, just to own a 10yr old tin can of a car, and to make it as fast as a stock WRX, which I will eventually drift into a wall and total and start the process over again.

If you're going to college you need a reliable car first. You can always get a fast car after you graduate. You don't want a car on which you'll have to debate on whether you should study for the exam or fix that fucking blown headgasket.
I go to SPC ( community college is like disco with books) so I can work 50 hours a week, do my homework, go to class, build up my weekend/track car, repair my daily driver and still have time to do other shit. But since you're going to a real school don't fucking blow it. There is nothing wrong with your Civic.
