ive heard this from countless v8 guru's, the OLD ls1 v8's were the best to have. good luck finding one though from what im told.

You can still pick them up in 98-99 camaros/firebirds and they are readily available for damn cheap, except now a lot of them are kicking over 100,000 miles.

not the ones im talking about. whole different engine. it was from the 60's or 70's. im not a v8 guy so dont tend to remember that stuff since i dont really care about it. my buddy dave had a 69 camaro ss and he swears by that engine (wasnt the stock one) and ive talked to plenty of people that run v8's and they always mention the old ls1 corvette v8.

LS1's were started to be put in 96 corvettes I believe ... it's an all aluminum v8, nothing old about it.

the engine i speak of was a cast iron block. ill have to talk to him and find out what exact years the corvette had that engine. it was way back in the day.
