Default which car to get?

I cannot make a decision on what car to get?! Here is waht I am tihnking. I hate hondas, I dont like front wheel drive, but I want sometihng that people will want to race. I am getting hooked up so I will twin turbo whatever I get for pretty "cheap" (couple grand).

z28, trans am - what year is the beat? what engine to look for?
eclipse GSX - awd
95 cobra - a ME2 car: what do you have? a mustang. me too.
and too many people have hondas in tampa. I really dont know. :-/ if I got an integra would do a h22 swap. Any suggestions guys? other cars?

go with the dsm - that's where the power is - the z28 and the domestics are cool as well depends what you're into - I think you should ask yourself these questions first:

Do I want a Domestic or an Import ?

How much do I truly have in my pocket now and how much do I wish to spend ?

Do I wish to mod the car after I get it ?

How much is insurance ?

Just basic stuff you should consider - please don't get a honduh though unless you find a good deal lol we have enough ricers out there

youll have a lot of potential with the gsx, and a lot of the f-bodies (top engine model) are fast out of the box and are even faster after a few bolt-ons.

i personally would go with a trans am, DSM's break down all the time and i dont find their modability to be worth it (unless youll have a seperate daily driver)

Any car breaks down if it's done wrong but ya...Dsms are know for problems - you have to take care of them

O and I noticed on your other post that both your parents are lawyers so I'm guessing finances won't be an issue - why not consider something newer like an STI ? Evo 8 or something ? Supra etc ?

I wanted to only spend around max 10-12 grand (on jsut the car) so then i have a little to mod it with. I found a GSX 99 for aobut 9.

and the $$ is a little problem when theres no clients, and the ones we have dont pay up...

DSM = Diamond Star Motors = Any 1g (90-94) (mitsubishi eclipse, eagle talon, plymouth laser) non turbo and turbo cars and 2g (95-99)(eclipse and talon) non turbo and turbo cars

with the gsx you'd have a quick launch and all insurance is pretty high on them as I am guessing you are like 18 or under - but as you said your parents are lawyers so I don't see the problem

and for your Rice post funny but lol who do you think makes acura engines ?

10mpg ? lol dang you have really set low standards lol the dsm would get around 20mpg on avg or so - really depends what mods you are planning to do - if you wanna count gas cost in for any turbo car premium or better is the only option so the gsx overall is definetly not a cheap choice but to tell you the truth personally I'd get something newer STI or something like that in I had the $ depends how much you wanna mod how much you're willing to sell and how much you can do on your own

I understand now - well the thing is if $ is a factor the gsx will not be a cheap car to not only purchase but maintain - I mean the 4g63t (the motor in it) is capable of alot of stuff with basic bolt ons but it's also known for "crank walk" in the 7bolts (post 92 dsms) - so reliablility is not the strength of dsms - but power definetly is - insurance will be high for it I'll tell you that right now - and gas of course as I've mentioned b4 is premium only so it's definetly not your cheapest choice but compared to a 5.0L mustang or z28 Idk - power wise probably same potential - but domestics will be easier to maintain - gas will be the same off even though you can prob run unleaded in them, they'll get prob around 15mpg I'd guess but don't quote me on that one I don't really know - All I can say is you should look for a good deal - if you need anything lmk my aim is Sokolator09 I can help you out.

yeah last night gandy was stupid no action at all, i went to a place that usualy has 70-100 cars but no one was there and this guy form orlando i met at the sonic was following me he didnt know where to go so i raced him on the strip and i got waxed side by side through 3rd then he went i lost by about 4 cars. integra with a h22 swap 13.5 sec. he was side by side with a z06.

anyway, will I have traction problems with a front wheel car? like if i get a GS the insurance would be a little lower and the car would be cheaper, but is it worth it? I am going to start doing mods right off the bat. but isnt a dsm almost as ricey as a [H]?

a dsm ricey you have got to be kidding - dsm is the epitome of anti-rice ! But a non-turbo version will not be worth it - you will not have that much - as for if it's your first car - anything is fun - so w/e works - but if you are looking for something more powerful than you currently have the non-turbo version is not the way to go - a gst (the turbo fwd version) is not bad and is powerful as well - traction - no if you mod suspension etc
