Default The night the coolant temp sensor worked

So after owning the accord for a year... ive never had the coolant temp sensor work... Then yesterday I was so happy cuz i saw the temp come up to normal operating temps..

So im driving around town and on my way home when i see it start to rise... and rise faster... WTF? is it broke? Well i turn the car off and see some smoke coming out from my hood... well i guess its not broke... Coolant was coming out of my hose that connects below the radiator cap to the coolant resevoir..

AFter a few minutes i look at my temp gauage again and see the temp is back down to normal temps.. How could it come down that fast? then i thought.. its the damn thermostat sticking.. Cuz i really doubt the pump would turn off and on like that.. usually they just leak and then die or just die..

So i start it up and start driving home... and when im almost there i see the temp start shooting up... But i got home before it hit red .... Damn heat thought it could beat my vtec...

So i yanked the thermostat today and havent had the problem again yet.. only put 15 miles on it so far since the incident..

I'll run it without the thermostat for awhile and see how it goes... I dont need one anyways...

And thats the story of the night that the coolant temp sensor worked. the end

lol... yeah yeah i bought another thermostat. I just have to put it in now... I dont have a garage cuz my other pos is taking up space there... I dont know if i want to spill coolant all over the street again pulling off the hose (did it when no one was around).

I cant even really tell when Vtec kicks in.. I think its at 4000rpms... I'll watch teh gas mileage...

The reason i pulled the thermostat out and did not put in a new one is... I didnt want to drive the car to the store without a working coolant temp sensor. Afraid it was going to overheat... so i yanked it then drove to the store.. now i have to pull it apart again and change it... probably borrow a friends garage to do it this weekend.
