Auto Trans shifting problem
Alright first off I'm more familar with rotary engines than piston engines and not too fond of automatics so I don't deal with them much. with that said hears the problem.
I have a friend with a 92 grand am 3.3 liter V6 3300 series motor with an automatic transmission. First we had a head gasket blow and that caused a huge problem with coolant in the cylinders. so much coolant in the engine that the pistons could not reach the top of the cylinder during compression and with that stress caused the crank shaft to break. I know what u are thinking this doesn't happen or if it does it doesn't happen often. I have had a couple mechanics look at it and they all agreed.
After that problem we bought another engine from brandon auto salvage with 64000 miles on it. I did the swap and now the trans. is acting wierd.
When i go over a speed bump or turn after declerating the car acts as though it was switched into neutral for a few seconds and the gears don't seem to catch. Has anyone ever had this problem? Or does anyone know how to fix this problem? Does it have something to do with the flywheel and torque converter? I was thinking maybe the screws that connect the two aren't torqued to the correct pressure.
Any advice or comments that could help come to a solution for this pain in my ass are much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Tony

Did ou port or descreen the MAF? K&N filter? Anything to change the air intake, like that?
