E55 AMGs come in 2 different performance levels, the "standard" E55 is a stroked version of merc's 5l v8, making 362hp, or the kompressor supercharged version making 469hp and something like 517 lbs of tq.

the E55 is the AMG, otherwise its just the E500
car and driver ranked it lower than the bmw m5, the merc has both steering and throttle by wire, with far too many computer assisting doo-hickeys (technical term) that reduces the feed back to almost nothing.
