I was just watching this show on called Boost Fast cars/ nice parts or something like that. They had the TRD Toyota Celica, which boasted a horrid 170 hp out of a supercharged GT @ 7.5 lbs of boost. Bare in mind it only took a total of 45 thousand bucks to accomplish this super fast racecar.After all was said and done they pulled an earth shattering 14.8 in the quarter.

If you think that's bad, they had a Civic Si which they dropped a JDM Type R engine into with some mugen engine upgrades, body components, and brake mods. They dropped nearly 50 G's into it and were saying it rockets to sixty in 6.2 secs, and knocks the quarter mile out in like a 14.7. The funny thing is they said they were laying down about 240 whp and 142 ft lbs tq. What a joke.

i wonder if i wrote the show and told them i promise better than 13's if they'd be willing to throw 50 g's in my car....i could be ricer god!!!!nvm it's a dodge and doesnt have v-tec or some sorta vvt-i device on it....so i'm defin. not cool enough for tv

 

Well, you're already running 13s if you know how to shift and when to launch. 50 k would get you into the 11s, maybe faster.

What a joke. I have put about 20k into my hatch and it is an 11sec car. If I had 50k, I would be in the 9's.

 

if i had 50k i woldnt put it on a Celica or a honda !! lol I could find better uses for 50K and find a much faster car ! you know like a S14 with a Low Port Black Top with some nice upgrades put me in the 12-11's !!! and still have pimp factor ! But IDRVALTMA does kinda exagerrate so who knows if tihs iscorrect !

 

Wierd thing is, the Celica GT-S is capable of breaking into the high 14's stock.

 

one thing to consider is that the 1/4 that they are testing on is not an actuall track, its a marked of section of road.

It was definitely the quarter mile, they showed both cars running down the track.

 

Their was no exagerration in this post, I promise you. These cars were meant for track racing and both handled like a champ. I still thought the high 14s claim in the qm was completely pathetic for the amount of money they dropped into these cars.
