Need car audio advice for my teg
ok, first here's some history. i bought one 12" infinity sub with a sealed box and 600 watt planet audio (no name) amp from a buddy a while ago. it sounded nice in my car, and i was satisfied. but now its having problems. when i was driving it the other day, the sub sounded like someone turned the volume WAY down on it, and i cant figure out why. it still puts out some power, but doenst hit at all like it used to. im thinking my amp went bad, b/c i dont think the sub blew. but i really dont know.
i need advice on what i should do. i could buy another amp and put it back on the box + sub i have now, but if im gonna buy another amp i dont want to get a cheap one. i have always wanted to have one 10" JL audio w6V2 in my car; i think it would hit harder than the 12" i have now. is it worth it to spend the money buying the more expensive JL sub, and buy/build another box, to go with the new amp im buying? or should i just buy a cheaper amp to put it back on the sub i have now?
my thinking is the JL would hit harder and sound better than the cheaper 12 i have now, while also saving weight.
