WHOA!

What's the deal here, you don't need insurance when you have a bike? How does that work?!

I'va taken the aforementioned "course" and that doesn't exempt anybody from having insurance. If you're riding on public roads you need insurance. [/rider from texas]

(The stage is ready for a rider that knows the deal in Florida)

I don't have a car and happy. The only thing you gotta watch out for is people might steal it if you go somewhere (alarm and locks take care of it). Other than that, you'll become virtually the toughest man on earth weather-wise (been riding through the rain, during 34 F and so forth). Couple of jackets, and you'll be straight. I don't regret my choice and I never will. Just be careful and know your own limits.

By Florida law, you don't have to have a insurance for the bike if you are going to wear a helmet. But if you are going to ride without a helmet, you gotta have at least a life or health insurance.

I would consider a bike more of a "recreational" vehicle. It's not very practical in the real world.
