What happens to a Kumho tire

When you are desperate to get to work, so you can get to the tire shop later on....
This was not a fun ordeal. And who the fuck at ford, had the bright idea with the spare tire not clearing the front calipers?

Do you have the larger SVO/Mark VII calipers? Those are the only things I would think could cause the clearance issues with the spare tire.
Bummer about the tire. At least you didn't get in an accident.

Also for those with Kuhmo's - make sure you check pressure on a constant basis - I have heard of several cases of tread seperation on the 712's due to low pressure. A couple of them at freeway speeds where the car was totaled.
No problems with my Kumho ECSTA STX tires. Then again in my opinion I think its a better tire then the 712's. Too bad its only for trucks though.

I had alignment issues long ago, Mainly finding a place that would acutally touch the caster/camber plates.
The kumho was fine, then wednesday, there was a sidewall buldge I didnt know about and it blew out at about 45 mph. I didnt even notice it, just heard the sound and thought it was a dump truck next to me. Then I noticed the car pulling to one side. Pulled over and it was flat. Got it jacked up in the air, stuck the spare up, started tightening it down, then noticed it wasnt turning. Damn spare wouldnt clear the caliper.
So there I was jacking the whole side of the car up with a scissor jack all the way up by the front, I manged to get it high enough to where I could pull on the rear tire jhard enough to get it off the axle, stuck the spare on the back and the good tire on the front.
Lowered it down, damn spare was low on air. it was just a block to the 7-11. Guess what, there machine was broken. Next gas station was 2 miles away, drove slow, got there, damn spare has broken its bead.
Switch tires again, put the bad on the back, toss the spare in the trunk. I figure im half way there, im late for a billion really important things I was supposed to do toady.. I fugre I can get to work at least, get my new tires today, and do all my stuff tomorrow. WEll only got a few miles of driving slow, before it just came apart.
