Default The next automotive trend

I've been saying it for a few years now, but with the new Aussie based GTO destined for the states it's only a matter of time before the U.S. and the rest of the world discovers Australian Utes. Basically it's a ElCamino/Ranchero but way cooler. It's a sportscar based utility car/truck hybrid.
I foresee various spinoffs of the Ute in this market...maybe even some front drive sporty import type models. Remember the Subaru Brat and the Dodge Rampage? Something along those lines, but with modern running gear and styling. Think of a RSX-S with a small truck bed. Hmmm. Maybe the Focus Wagon, but with a bed and the new 2.3 torquey 4 banger and SVT suspension. How about a VW GTi VR6 ElCamino. Why not.

why not?? it is pointless.... the aussie make good cars but don't bring those little pussy trucks over here. They won't get anything besides 200 lbs back there.

I seen a report in motor trend about that subaru baja and they filled it with bricks and the front wheels were lifting off the ground

I don't think it is a very good idea

mini trucks is enough

Anyhow..i love utes.. the Maloo is amazing..

285 Kw or about 380 HP

also Ford has one aswell..

with the "Boss 290 - High-performance 5.4L Quad Cam 32 valve V8" .. 385 HP NA 5.4L.. the engine thats in the 2000 Cobra R

i think they will be the next big thing here aswell.. long as GM doesnt think its SSR is gonna be the one to start the trend.. we need these aussie cars.. and more will follow..

Subaru will have a 250 HP version of its Baja before too long.. Turbo 2.5L
Every1 one of those cars is badass. Especially with the numbers they put down.

I think I remember that post and I'm pretty sure I said I'd rock it then too. Of course I like the other aussie cars a hell of a lot better, but over SUV I'd take this anyday.
