Kumho Ecsta MX

Cheap and I've heard nothing buy good about them. They hold, one neg I've heard is they're NOISY. Depends what you're looking for. (This is the tire if you're into handling, not the best for treadwear.)

........... Kumho 712s are lots of suck compared to the Ecsta MX's.

i drop down 1.5 60ft times on my bfg's and can yank the front tires off the ground with them thats pretty good i think

I have AVS Sports and like them very much I have also heard good things about the Kuhmo MX's and the Yoko ES100's - Also Bridgestone has a replacement to the R730's - 750's (I think) which are supposed to be a big improvement. Lots of choices

245's on an 8 inch rim?- they are going to balloon out a little. 245's on a 9" will have a much better profile.

Ive got 18x8's on my maxima and Kumho Ecsta MX 235/40/18's. Best tire for the price. I think I got all 4 for like $540 or something. The fronts are already a little worn but I must admit I dont drive it kindly. My mom has Kumho Ecsta KH-11's on her maxima, 225/50/17's, on stock rims, and those are good too.

EDIT if youre looking for something that will last, as you said in your original post, then you gotta compromise a little performance imo unless you wanna spend a fortune on tires

PS--Streetdriven...if u wanna see how the Ecsta MX 235/40's feel on a maxima before you buy em, i can meet up with u sometime and u can try em out. (I have a 2k 5 spd)
