Something was SERIOUSLY wrong with that car to put 221 to the wheels. If you do the math for 15% drivetrain loss(which i think is a widely accepted ratio on a manual-20% for an auto) then that puts the car at 254bhp. They come with 287bhp from the factory which translates to 250whp on a manual and 239whp for an auto. I used a 20% drivetrain loss for the auto. These percentages are very liberal and actual drivetrain loss could be less.
Like i said that car or dyno was waaaay of.
To answer the question asked directly here are #'s based off of widely accepted ratio's of drivetrain loss.
Auto would be in the nieghborhood of 239whp-20% DT loss
Manual would be in the nieghborhood of 250whp-15% DT loss.
With the advances in auto tranny's that we are now seeing in todays cars i feel that the 20% DT loss might be a bit high. They are forever closing the gap between them and the manual. Please keep in mind these are my opinions and none of these aformentioned figures were based off of any dyno's. These figures were derived from widely and normally acceptable ratio's of drivetrain loss.
Are you sure you are speaking of a 350Z?
Your friends driving ain't worth a damn if he can't get the very low 14's.

I've raced them, both driving one and against one. When you're actually behind the wheel, you think they feel pretty slow. When you're in the other car, all doubt is removed.
