I am not a ricer but....
I am sure most of you have read about my Teg getting stolen a week or so ago. Since then, I have been researching everything about alarms and anti theft devices. I do not want to lose a beloved car to some dick licker again.
Now here is the plausable rice....(do not flame me, just give sugestions please)
Other than a top notch alarm deterrant, I thought of getting air bags. Yeah its gayness. But I wouldn't get them to ride down Dale Mabry with half my car raised and the other half dropped. I would get them strictly to be able to drop my car to the ground when I am in a questionable area so *hopefully* a tow truck couldnt get under the car and take it to a chop shop.
I know this sounds mildly ridiclous...but it makes sense, right? I think it is a good idea for an anti theft device.
I searched the interent, but I couldnt find any pricing for import vehicles and this air bag system. Do you all have any ideas or suggestions? I am scrambling for ideas because I want to be reassured that my next car wont get stolen.

Look into the Viper GPS system...... if your car isnt where you had it.. you can locate it, turn off all power... and have the exact address reported to the police of where its at.
Makes a good combo with the viper 791VX system (LCD remote).. which I have talked about a couple of times on this section.. which is what I have. Just always be on the lookout on where you park.. when it comes to securing your car its always best to do it the right way. Good luck

Like everyone said, if they want to take your car, they will.
You can take SupraKid's advice and go with a similer product, if you don't have much to spend, invest into a cut off switch to the battery, that you only know where it is on the car. But that won't help you much if they just tow your car.

as far as people being able to get into your car and start it, put in an engine kill switch.
and do what kirk said, get lojack, it will save you more money than a regular alarm on your insurance as well. onstar has a system that when they track your veh they will shut it down if its not on the road.
we dont discount the tracking device that kirk listed but here are some tracking devices the insurance companies will discount:
forcetracker
onstar-GM only
visteon rescue-ford only
alpine mobile mayday system
lexus link
lojack
onguard
VEMS
mr. rescue
toyo guard
tele aid-mercedes
teletrac or teletracer
a tracking device and an engine kill switch is the way to go.

This is the internet. You're just supposed to talk up whatever you do know as if you're a salesman for it. i.e. I drive a Supra and a Corolla therefore 2JZ is the greatest and so is the 4A and I don't care about anything else because it's all crap since I don't have it. I also have a stack of $20 bills in front of me, therefore 20>50 and 20>100 and 20>1000. $20 bill FTW.
as far as a security system goes, I am doing the install myself. I work at Circuit City doing installation so I am very familiar with everything offered by Viper and the other security system options. I had -EVERYTHING- imaginable except the location device on my Tegs alarm system. Im definately going to add lojack to my next car though.
I am just throwing out other options so I can come up with something to deter tow trucks from stealing my car.

go to some govt surplus store and buy a boot that they put on your car for parking tickets.....just a thought
