4500, sidestep...

it's a torquey RWD mid engined car with short gearing. It'll outlaunch most anything on the street. Not that I try...

spin is inevitable, just a dump of the clutch from idle and a simultaneous mashing of the throttle.

The trick is to purchase good tires and stand it on the bumper. I launch with some pretty high rpms and ease the clutch until it starts to move then step off it like its burning a hole through my shoe. So I guess you might say I use a combination of both.

I slip my converter
When driving a stick, I slip the clutch. Used to be pretty damn good at it, but this auto thing has made me weak...............

There's a trick to hitting the tires, not too hard, but enough to get the weight transfer started, then holding, then getting the rest of the way into it. I would launch the auto the same way.

On the slicks? Take it to the limiter and let go of the clutch, on radials... it doesn't really matter, the car is going sideways.
