Default What's up with that busted turbo in my sig?

For entertainment purposes only.

Drivin down the road i heard a whine. I looked at Trish. Nope that wasnt it. hmm.. Turns out this is what happened:

I take my car to lovely Cars N Concepts and they say, "are you sure you didnt drop anything in there?" I'm, like "yeah.. Pull that shit out!"
so they did.

So, waiting to find a good place to send the turbos to be rebuilt i got bored:

Turns out that was a good idea:

Before

after

Cash liked it

And that was my motivation to do the entire bay

I was about to break out my wax when i decided it was late and i should go home. But before that, i cleaned and lubed the air filter:

If you're interested, here's a link to the entire gallery. with HUGE pics..

I have known a couple people that had similar damage (some worse) and it was caused by rocks (turbo + no filter on the compressor).

You might want to borrow a boroscope to make sure whatever was injested didn't damage any cylinders.

Did you run a compression check to see if there is any problem with any of the cylinders?

If you didn't drop anything anything in your plumbing then I would have to assume that the shop that did the work was to blame.
