id offer him $$3000-3500 for the camaro. Thats all its worth. I see ones with lower miiles in better condition go for not much more than $4k. Id still the Lt1 over the 240 for sure. Have the heads ported, drop in a healthy cam, some bolts, exhaust, sticky tires and gears, you are talking a 400 hp monster that will trap 115+ at the drag strip.
Ask if hes done the optispark in the camaro as well. If it has been done lately or not a ll. You can bet yourself, it will be do soon enough and that alone will probably run you $500 if you let someone else do it.

We had a 95 A4 that a customer had at our shop we were doing work on. It had 108k miles, everything worked fine. They only wanted $3500 for it. And it was driven by a girl. Ive seen quite a few on the internet as well floating around. Hell ive seen 98/99 LS1 fbodys for for 9k. But I seriously wouldnt offer that guy no more than $3500 tops. Its not worth much more.
To fix the a/c you are talking a few hundred dollars to replace the line, change the filter dryer, change the orfice tube, flush the sysetm and refill with r134a.
A cd player is another $100
the header gasket, well you can do it yourself, if its the drivers side, then you are lucky and they would take an hour or two to fix yourself. The gasket itself isnt that much.

passenger side is much harder to work on....but with that many miles, ur better off looking for a better deal and not get either of those 2 cars. if it has headers, intake and exhaust, then the Z28 has obviously been raced and ragged on. but those lt1's last a long time. u can find much better deals on Z28's than that. just look around.

The nissan sounds like a good deal, even with that much miles on it, it will probably be alot more dependable. But I wouldn't buy the camaro...unless your prepared to put some more money into it after you bought it.

You can always buy a mustang!
