Default Gears

Just asking because i wasn't sure... then again you guys are in Florida and may not know..

leaving school today this afternoon... really cold, with the wind chill factor taking into affect it was freezing and below.. i was freezing my ass off and taking it easy on the gears, but then i noticed that as i was slowing down for lights.. down shifting somewhat.. it was between 2000 rpms and 2500, nothing too much.. it seemed like it was resisting to mesh the gears.. what the dillyo? anyone?

it happens to my neon when i first start the car after work, around 3am. once it warms up, it shifts fine. just shift slower.

1st- the h22 tranny is pretty weak. as stout as the motor is, you'd think honda would build a strong tranny for it. . . . but no.

in the cold the fluid is obviously thicker. when was the last time you flushed it?
