Default Brake Light

My brake light stays on after I take the e-brake off , only in the A.M. and usually when it's cold out. It will either go off after I've driven a few miles, or after I drop my son off at daycare and start my car up again it will go off.

Anything to be concerned about? Maybe the e-brake needs to be adjusted?

have you checked the fuses? might not be the problem solver but a good place to start...

Most cars brake lights dont go on when the E brake is applied. Could be different on yours though.

Could be low on brake fluid...or there is a buttom attached to your pedal assembly if you look down there you can see it. It may be sticking or maybe a lose wire. But I would check the break fluid first...low break fluid on Honda/Acura will throw a brake light.

Thanks guys! I will try the above.

And yes, when the e-brake is applied my little red "brake" light comes on. I thought it was usually standard on manual cars????

Are you talking about the light in the dash, the triangle with an exclamation mark in it, that comes on when you engage the emergency brake? or the actual brake light in the center of the rear window that comes on when you press the brake pedal?

If its only in the A.M that means that your car and its sensors are cold,(fluids too) so after driving around town a bit it would go off. This is what the Acura Dealership told me when I had my Teg....

It's my light in the dash. Thanks, Chris LS. Seems logical since it only happens on cold mornings. Seems weird mentioning cold when I'm in Tampa!!!
