Default The good the bad and the ugly

First the bad......I finished going over my setup the other day. Found four broken valve springs But I cant complain...they have held up a year and a half to over .600 lift cam with aggressive ramps. Actually not too bad considering. I just need to spec out a new set and swap them all out. Probably do that this weekend with Brandons help. Then order them. No wonder the power was inconsistant and felt down on power the past two weeks. But I have likely had a broken spring for atleast a month.

Next we will go with the good....I did a leak down test of all cylinders. They were all between 5%-3% leakdown COLD! Which is damn good considering the abuse I have put this thing through. I also have a top ring gap of .020 for nitrous so that will bump up the #s a bit. So the bottom end is doing VERY well.

Now the ugly....I finally got the instructions for the Volt blaster. I am going to install that this weekend. It will bump the voltage to the fuel pump and ignition systems. I will be able to have room enough for another 75 hp in fuel. And the extra iginition voltage shouldnt hurt either. So when it comes back out after tuning again I am looking for upper 700s in the RWHP dept. But soon I will be looking to change the second stage to a TNT wet kit or direct port. Im hoping that will get me in the mid 800s. We will see how the bottom end hold up then! lol. I am impressed with the short block so far....so Im going to push it hard.

Its no biggie...changing the springs will take a few hours once they are in hand. The problem is just that we dont know what brand they were...so we have to do some test to determine what will suffice as a replacement.
