does anyone know how to fix the head gasket on an 88 Nissan Stanza...the mehcanic said 500-1200

Well it's a very streight forward job on ANYCAR. I don't know if there is anything special you need for that car in perticular. But here's what you will need: Torque wrench,torque specs for the head bolts(duh !),a buddy,a whole day of free time,lots of beer,and a BFH"BIG FUCKIN HAMMER"(just in case), rachets and extensions, and a screw driver of two. Since this is a nissan engine it is probably a single or double OHC. Wich means you will take one or two more extra steps then I did(V8 pushrod motor). Oh and before I forget ,a new gasket. You're gonna wanna drain your coolent out of the head first though unless you wanna be like me and forget then learn the hard way ...All in all just put everything back on the same way you took it off. Take your time and label EVERYTHING your liable to forget where it goes with paper and a good maker with simple stuff like A on A and B to B etc.... I don't think I'm forgeting anything but that should be it.
