Most of you guys are still using the older white remotes which came with the alarm system - I started having a problem with my Alarm and it would only work whenever it wanted to, and sometimes I would be forced to lock the car with no alarm at all... took it to the guys at Tampa Bay Auto Sounds today and they told me that alot of the remotes have had these problems and that Directed (the company who makes Viper Alarms) is aware of some of the problems with the older remotes... They have an upgrade for $50 and you get a snazzy new remote which also has a clip like most cell phones do, a shiny viper logo on top, supposedly gets way better reception, and doesn't feel out of date like the older white ones.
This is not an advertisement - Alot of you guys were referred to them by me to get the 790's installed. If you go there ask for Rick, he is the owner and tell him Kirk with the black supra told you go there for the remote upgrade and he will hook you up.
It's better to be safe than sorry... anything could have happened to my car with the alarm disabled.

I am not susprised if the Clifford remotes work on the viper alarms
Its the same shape, I bet the plastic face can be popped off and replaced with the viper one

When you buy the Viper, the only thing different IS the name on the remote. The brain is a DEI exclusive product. And they retail at the same price as well. The only reason they sell with different names is to support other regional products with specific companies/competition.
www.directed.com for their full line up.
