With the examples i just gave that is an ignorant statement. That Ferrari engine will out perform the viper engine any day of the week.

While you want to maximize both dispacement and cylinders doing so takes a large engine which means weight.

That means compromise is the key and I am a big fan or the six cylinder ~3 liter solution.

I love those pesky 3.0 inline 6 cynlinder motors.

I like the idea of having a 3.0 liter I6 putting down 600+RWHP on a daily basis, and I am also a fan of the domestic motors that can do the same.
woops didnt even realize i typed that, and between the ferrari and viper id have to go with ferrari for the reason porsche guy posted

well the ferrari is just a work of art. 5.75 litres for 12 cylinders is just so damn sexy. the smaller the combustion chanber, the more efficient burn.

You can get anything for the 1uz that you can get for the 1jz, it just might not be somthing a million other people have as well.

i would take the v8, and do everything to it that i would to the 6.

I would say displacement is the key factor.... the SR20DET I4 seems to do just as well if not better than the RB20DET I6... I'd rather have more displacement.

However sometimes as in the case with f1 motors, it is easier to keep things tougether at 17000 rpm with 12 tiny pistons, rather than 6-8 huge ones... so i dunno.......

For a street car.. displacement

Well, that could also be a superior build. The SR just seems to be a great engine, where the RB20 doesn't seem to be too outstanding. I personally like more cylinders, that equals more tq which i am in dire need of.
