B18C1...

Stock form is better for boosting than ITR...

If you use ITR pistons with the GSR motor then you make more power than the actualy Type R due to higher compression.

Higher avalibility of parts..

H22A has more displacement, but dosent respond as well to mods, as well as the fact that there are LESS OPTIONS for parts.. As far as boosting goes, H22A hates cranks

parts can be an issue. i have to say that i dont want to boost at all or i would have kept my tsi awd. NA is my goal. idk b/c you can get the h22 for 1950 and the gsr cost 2950 and you get more out of the box with the h22 but like you said its not the best with mods.

the b18c is a better fit and better with the mods but it cost alot more and doesn't have the torque but its still a great motor.

i'm going for 200whp or so. idk what to do. i'm not going to go nuts, its' a daily driver and 200whp in a eg hatch is pretty fast for a daily. thanks again for your time.
