Sorry, I didnt know the Best place to put this. Does anyone know how to check the codes for the check engine light on a 2000 Volvo s70 turbo?

The car is a friend's. I just drove it and there is something wrong with it. It does not run smoothly, it jerks a little when you accelerate sometimes. I also noticed it when I slowed down and came to a constant speed. It seems to do it worse when you are driving faster, like on the interstate. I was thinking it could be spark plugs, but it doesn't do it consistantly. Could it be something to do with the turbo?

 

maybe the turbo......does it ever stall when at idle?

 

I don't think it has stalled on her yet. However, when I was driving it tonight there was one point when it felt like it was going to stall when I was driving about 45 mph. Another thing that I thought was weird is that sometimes the RPM will jump or fall a couple hundred RPM suddenly. Other times the car would not be running smoothly, but the RPM didn't seem to be fluctuating. It's got me confused.

 

did u check the oil?

 

No, when I got back to my apt it was dark. I'll call her right now and have her check it.

 

This car belongs to my room mates gf. He just got back and said he checked the oil and it was fine, but in the process he noticed that "the turbo intake was loose." I haven't looked at it yet and he really doesn't know much anout cars, but hopefully this is all that was wrong.
