Went to the Gandy last night. I was sitting at the gas station across the street from Shell, and all I heard was turbos spooling up, blow-off valves going off. I always though of my car as being quick (not fast but quick). Compare to what other people have my car is a slow POS. I was amazed how fast some cars are.
Also, back in the day when F & F came out everyone was riding in a Civic with vinyl graphics everywhere and a huge wing. Now a lot of people are riding JDM style. Fashion? Everyone wants to be in that bandwagon?

I bet most of you guys didnt get into the import scene till the movie came out.. I wouldnt try to make a FWD car go fast... let alone it be a Honda.. so no fashion there..and JDM ..

I was able to sneak out there last nite as well, and yes, I get the feeling there are more turbo or swapped Hondas out. As a matter of fact, I was at the stoplight at the Westshore and Gandy intersection alongside this white hatch and as we started to roll along on the green when his dumbass decided to punch it and he almost torque-steered his way into my front fender. He's lucky he was able to control his POS. But my temper was soothed by the sounds of what I believe was HybridSS and Juiced messing with each other about 2 cars ahead of me, which even got better when we got to the strip over the water.

 

It might not be the fastest one ina straight line (unless you "put $10000 in it, or more, if we have to" lol), but it's pretty quick taking corners. Plus, I'm not spending my weekends underneath my car trying to get it running...
I was never really into import scene. I like speed, I like all kinds of cars. Some of them are faster, some of them look better, some of them are more reliable.
Yes, it is difficult (and expensive) to make a FWD fast, but it is possible. I saw a red turbo'ed '95 coupe that ran 13.2 on street tires. It can be fast, but it is pretty difficult to get it there.

 

what happened is, everyone who got into cars after fast and furious w/ their civic's and vinyls have learned by now that rice is not cool and are actually getting into real import tuning. i'd rather their be a bandwagon of JDM style than seeing that old bandwagon of F&F style.

 

If it's fast I can respect it, but i love domestic v8 muscle!

no one i have ever know with a fast car has had a big wing or stupid graphics on their car. only stupid kids who want to look good and get attention do that. and attention is the last thing you want with a fast car.
