Sad to say, but i'll not be able to run the ZR-1 this weekend, the lifter that was making a noise last week, took the motor out.

I was on my way to the dyno shop, driving over the HF Bridge when the noise competly went away, then immediately after, there was a rattle and the bloody car started to miss out.

I stopped the car & called the misses to come get me, went home, got the truck & trailer & went back to collect the car.

Loaded onto the trailer, pulled the plugs & # 5 Cylinder is dead as a DO-DO, zero compression, it looks like the lifter collapsed & the piston hit the valve bending it.

I'm kinda fedup at the minute, to take the head off of this car is a national event, it will be at least 2 months before it's all ready again, everything has to come out, the motor will need to be pulled, all parts special ordered again. Whats really annoying is that when the motor was put back, the builder showed me the old lifters, there was some what appeared to be hairline cracks in the tops, so he told me to put in 32 new lifters @ $34.00 EACH, so i did, if i would have re used the old flipping lifters i would bet i would have been good to go.

So tomorrow, instead of putting on my slicks & loading the car on the trailer, ill be pulling off the wheels & unloading the trailer!

I miss so much the racing aspect, i love driving the Diablo, but it's not ideal for racing at the track or with you guys, more of a cruiser. I'll still be out Saturday at the track, but just to watch. Today is just one of those days.

Damn damn damn...sorry to hear that. I was really looking forward to seeing your car run. It would have been a highlight for sure. Well...look at it this way...it could be worse...driving the Diablo has got to dull the pain somewhat
